When the call came in we couldn’t have been more excited! The challenge: plan the ultimate prom experience that would appeal to the students, not scare the staff, and be within budget. Oh, and present ideas to some of the coolest young adults that attend the academy, and wow them with our creativity and style . NO PRESSURE! I arrived at McKinney Christian Academy not knowing what to expect, and hoping that I still had an ounce of cool left, that would appeal to high school level students. Seriously, it was the most fun and inspirational collaboration experiences I have had in a long time! The students were eager to help design, and trusted my instincts which was nice! We had a series of two collab meetings , at which it was decided that they would be let in on the major details, but a couple of secrets would be kept between Mrs. McAnally and I to ramp up the excitement of the event!
* EVENT TIP * Any time there is a planned unexpected element that occurs throughout the event experience it elevates the mood of the event!!! Even letting the client know that you plan to surprise them, actually gives them a reason to talk and hype up the event. In this case read: High school words spread fast and increase prom attendance to see what CYMBIDIUM will show up with. Take a look at the inspiration board….
